Breakfast Ride July 14 2011

BREAKFAST RIDE AT HOLIDAY STABLES, HOLIDAY ACRES, RHINELANDER, WISCONSIN JULY 14 2011

WOW!
Today was my first Breakfast Ride with the resort. It was a
terrific experience and one I hope to be able to do again sometime soon. If you have not taken the wagon or horses out to the "Old Farm" breakfast site, you must plan to do so next time you are here. We started out at Holiday Stables and about 9 of us plus a few with their smaller children rode to the site and the rest rode in the wagon driven by Cowboy Steve. One thing for certain, you always meet the nicest folks out on the trails here. I am hoping the parents riding together with their children can walk tomorrow!
By the time we got to "camp", Kim and his crew had the fire ready for making our Camp Toast. The eggs were cooking, pancakes were on the griddle, syrup was heating up, sausages were cooking, and our bread was ready for toasting. Even Max the family's Golden Retriever was on hand to greet us with a handshake and to supervise the operation. Of course we had coffee and juice ready too, and this cowgirl was happy for that. It was fun to toast your bread on a stick, over the campfire. The kids loved it but, I think the adults got a kick out of it too! If you put on the jam...WOW! A taste sensation that wakes you right up in the morning.
After a bit of the kids running around in the meadow and one of us with a full tummy lying on a log to take a short snooze, we headed back to the stables to chalk up another wonderful memory for us all.
